I am so honored when I get the opportunity to see a family grow from newborn to 1 year (and hopefully beyond). I get to make a unique connection with my clients and I am so grateful for that! This particular family is a part of that scenario and are no exception to the ‘I have the BEST clients’ rule. We started their journey with an in-home newborn session, capturing the early moments as a new family and were able to include the 4-legged fur babies in a couple of shots as well. Next the family ventured to my in-home studio at around 6 months of age for a sweet session utilizing both my indoor and outdoor studio options. And now, for this precious lady’s 1-year session we ventured to a simple Wayzata location, complete with a lush background that doesn’t compete with capturing the little Miss in all of her moving, climbing and ‘busy’ glory
This family is precious and these sweet little ladies couldn’t be more excited about welcoming their new baby brother into the family! What an honor it was to spend the morning with them, capturing what real life looks like in their house as a family of 5!
When you book a newborn session with IDP you have the opportunity to schedule a session at my in-home studio or to have me travel to you! Both situations are really fun for new mamas and I love that I am able to offer both. With an in-studio session you can expect a laid back experience with more posed shots. With an on-location (or in YOUR home) newborn session you can expect the same laid back experience, but with more ‘life-style’ shots. Either way you can expect the session to be fun and unique, just like your little one!
The woman’s body is so amazing. The way it can ‘grow’ another human is remarkable. I love maternity shoots–getting to focus on the beauty of a glowing mama, being able to see and feel the yearning she is feeling of meeting her new little one, and the proud dad just soaking it all in. Okay, and let’s be honest…dad usually can’t keep his hands off his beautiful lady and her perfectly growing bodyThe fact that I am invited into other peoples sweet anticipations is such an honor. I am truly blessed by my job!
I recently had the opportunity to meet a new precious family and their newborn. I really enjoy being able to offer in-home sessions to my new mom’s and dad’s. At a time where life feels a little crazy, unknown, and the most precious, I think it is such an honor to be invited into that ‘mess’ and capture the pure raw beauty of a family being with one another. I really love how newborn lifestyle portraits utilize the backdrop of the home the little ones are being brought into. I love it that they will be able to see the surroundings of their sweet new beginnings each time they look back at their newborn portraits. Raw and and pure. Love it!
